Magnolias

"Magnolias" is what I call a slice of life painting.  I was experimenting with different approaches to work on a larger canvas. You will notice that the price is much lower than what a 20"x20" painting would be and that was part of my plan; to make a larger work more affordable while still striking.  The image is 3 1/2" tall and literally a slice.

I have always loved magnolias, and wanted to have a painting that was strong contrast.  The "unpainted" section of this canvas is actually filled with texture and then painted a soft cream color.  It looks fantastic on a wall with a little bit of color!  You will notice a little magnolia flower drawn below the painted image.  Those are called Remarques. It's just an added touch to make this extra special!

The sides have been painted around for a modern look.
